I'm excited to announce that I'm prominently featured on Broken, one of the songs on my good friend Jason Vitelli's newly-released album entitled, No Photographs!
I was in love with this gorgeous song since I first heard Jason singing an early version of it a couple years ago. Jason was kind enough to let me try out some harmonica playing on it... The happy result is that the song now features my lengthy harmonica solo in its official recorded version!
Broken (along with the rest of the album) is available now on
iTunes... and everywhere else-- Digital and physical versions abound!

Here's the video of us performing the song at Jason's CD Release Party:

After playing in each other's full-on bands for the past couple of years, the amazing
Jessica Lee
and I have finally decided to try out a new format:
a two-person-only show, in the style of Johnny Cash and June Carter.

The Save Hayko's Benefit Concert!
|

For the past couple years, my favorite venue to play in New York has been
Hayko's Turkish Carpets, the beautiful carpet showroom on the Upper East Side, which the Roomful of Sky creative community transforms by night into an unlikely-- yet magical-- modern day salon.
We've been holding living room-style concerts as well as other cultural events at Hayko's for the past three years. It's become our creative home in many ways and supports our thriving grassroots arts scene; yet, given the current economic environment, carpet sales are slowing down leaving our friend Hayko to seek out new ways to get the word out about his carpets...
Which is where we come in.
Please join myself and my musician friends-- Jessica Lee, Jason Vitelli, Bobby Kane, Noe Venable and all the usual suspects-- on June 13th. We've organized a high-profile benefit concert (at the expansive Meta Center!) to help get the word out about Hayko and his beautiful rugs. I hope to see you all there!

The Collected Lectures of Joseph Campbell!

Big news! I've been selected by the Joseph Campbell Foundation
(jcf.org)
to edit and produce the new ongoing series of audio releases of The Collected Lectures of Joseph Campbell, which will be distributed through my record label,
Roomful of Sky Records.
Joseph Campbell, of course, is the well-known mythologist whose work in comparative religion has earned him millions of inspired readers throughout the world, myself included. I've been a lifelong reader of Campbell and feel deeply privileged to work on preparing his talks for an even wider audience.
